There are three C’s in pool care: Circulation, Cleaning and Chemistry. Proper water circulation helps prevent algae and bacteria growth, and running the wa-ter through the filter helps trap contaminants and other particles. Good circulation mixes and disperses the chemicals in the system. About 8-12 hours a day is recommended. Next, is cleaning, this should be scheduled at least once a week. Clean water and balanced water chemistry are the major keys to pool maintenance. Lastly, chemistry, most effective but ultimately harmful to humans and animals if handled incorrectly. Chemicals can cause skin and eye damage and is fatal when swallowed.
