In maintaining a suction-side pool cleaner, you must vacant the filter regularly. This is due to the debris and dirt from the device vacuum. Inspect and control all brushes and inlets as well as the wheels every after use to see if there are any possible trapped debris on it to prevent damage to the device. If the hose develops kinks, all you have to do is to spray with some hot water or simply lay the hose in the direct sunlight for quite some time. Since the material is plastic, the hot water or heat from the sun would help the plastic to soften and get back to its usual form. During the winter season, or whenever you close down the pool,  take all hoses and connectors apart. Drain all the water from the device cleaner and hoses and always to lay it flat on the surface.
