Standard Swimming Pool Manners

Being knowledgeable when it comes to appropriate manners of conducting oneself while swimming in a public or even a private swimming pool is a must. In this article, we have listed some swimming pool etiquette to observe.

First and foremost, you must have suitable clothing for swimming. Jeans are certainly not appropriate for swimming because it is heavy when it gets wet like a sponge. Strictly NO Spattering especially when in a public swimming pool or as a guest to someone else pool. We all know that splashing is the best way to articulate great happiness. However, it is always not for everyone. That is why we need to educate our young ones not to do too much splashing for it might be a way for someone to get agitated. Shower first before entering the pool and definitely don't jump and dive. Remember that not everyone in the pool or even near the pool knows how to swim. As for added security and an act of good manners, please refrain from pushing off into oncoming swimmers either in a public pool or at home. Some public pools actually have clearly marked lanes for swimming depending on how slow, medium or fast phase they wanted to swim. It is advisable to stay on the same lane you were at as a consideration to the other swimmers as well. When passing through other swimmers, They say that the rule is to tap the foot of the swimmer in front of you before passing as an act of politeness.
